November 6th, 2023
A seasoned telecommunications professional, Tom brings over 30 years of experience and industry insights to OneFiber. He will play a crucial role in advising the team on strategic initiatives and business development. We're looking forward to achieving great things together.
"Having worked with Tom before when he was a senior executive at Sprint, I am confident in his ability to help us realize our mission" said OneFiber CEO Robert Schouwenburg. "We are thrilled to have him on board and look forward to making our vision a reality.”
“Tom is a legend in telecom. I could not be happier to have his counsel and experience as part of our team” said OneFiber Co-Founder Scott Allan. “We have worked together on several successful projects, and I always reach out to him when I need advice on telecom strategy. Having Tom formally join OneFiber is really exciting!”
Tom is equally excited about joining the OneFiber team. “I am absolutely thrilled to join the OneFiber team. Robert and Scott are highly skilled and experienced operators I have worked successfully with before, and I truly believe in the mission to bring municipally-owned fiber internet networks to small towns and cities across America.”
OneFiber has received investment funding from gener8tor (https://www.gener8tor.com/) and Hendricks Commercial Properties.

About OneFiber
OneFiber specializes in constructing, financing, and managing fiber networks for underserved towns and cities in the United States. We believe that fiber networks are essential city infrastructure, similar to roads, water, and electricity. Fiber networks require complex construction, development and maintenance. That's where OneFiber comes in.
We offer a unique solution to towns that is budget-neutral and financially risk-free. Our services encompass the entire process of building and operating a fiber network, including securing municipal bonds, permitting, managing construction, maintenance, security, and delivering the internet service to residential and business customers. The network operates as an open access network, enabling multiple internet service providers to compete for business from town residents. This competition leads to better pricing and service options.

Community-owned internet is the future
The current situation where single partners wire up towns and cities to deliver broadband to your residents is not the right solution to the problem. The Internet has become so ubiquitous that it cannot be left to a single commercial partner to own and run your internet connections. In many cases this leads to rent seeking, backwards technology or unreliable connections. Their goals are not aligned with yours. OneFiber seeks to remedy this situation.
The value is in the network

Experienced partners
OneFiber is the new kid on the block but we work with reputable experienced companies for the buildout and maintenance of our fiber networks. Our partners have connected hundreds of thousands homes to fiber and run reliable fiber networks. You are in good hands with OneFiber.
